Fairfield University Art Museum

On May 10th the Fairfield University Art Museum opens Just Desserts, exhibition held in Peter Anton’s (b.1963) home state of Connecticut, which showcases a variety of different works by the colorful sculptor famous for his three-dimensional candy pieces.
In a single space the exhibition brings together some of Anton’s most popular works, from ice cream bars, cupcakes and heart-Shaped candies to donuts and his highly sought-after chocolate box pieces.
Anton has experimented with various materials, including metal, plaster, resin, wood and both oil and acrylic paints to achieve the captivating realism of his larger-than-life art works. He chooses subjects that encourage people to think about their own relationship to food, sensations of memory, nostalgia and desire that these sweet delights evoke.
